AB 2146, by Assembly member Mike Feuer (D-Los Angeles), was amended to prohibit health care providers from billing patients or payers for services that resulted in an adverse event. The bill also would bar providers from seeking payment for treatment stemming from the adverse event (Bill text, 5/23). The measure is before the Assembly (Bill status, 5/27).
