Pharmacy Chain To Expand in Southern California
Longs Drug Stores on Wednesday said it would purchase 24 Southern California pharmacies from Redlands-based Network Pharmaceuticals for $10 million, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
The deal includes 22 retail pharmacies, a wholesale pharmacy that sells to doctors and health care providers and a "closed door" pharmacy the sells to hospice, long-term care and mental health facilities.
The deal is expected to be completed in the second quarter, pending the usual closing conditions. Longs is based in Walnut Creek (San Francisco Business Times, 4/12).
