Plans for Mental Crisis Center in Ventura Move Forward
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted 4-1 to move forward with plans to convert the Hillmont House, currently a long-term mental health facility, into a short-term crisis center. Officials believe the plan, which will use the county's funds from Proposition 63, will save money by providing a facility for those with mental health problems who normally end up in county hospitals or jails.
