AB 2373 by Assembly member George Plescia (R-San Diego) was amended, but the changes did not affect the nature of the bill (StateNet, Subscription required). Under the legislation, nursing facilities would be required to track prescription drugs being used in an automated drug delivery system (Bill text, 5/25). The bill was re-referred to the Senate Health Committee and the Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee (StateNet, Subscription required).
The Senate passed SB 1711 by Sen. Deborah Ortiz (D-Sacramento), and the bill now moves to the Assembly (Bill history, 5/18). The legislation would require the Department of Health Services to annually report to the Legislature the amount of flu vaccine distributed to local governments or private, not-for-profit organizations (Bill text, 2/24).
