Program Aids Homeless Youths
About 60 homeless young people on Monday in Berkeley received medical and dental services under the Youth Connect outreach program, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Homeless people ages 25 and younger also were able to receive HIV tests, drug and job counseling, eye exams and glasses.
Youth Connect is intended to help homeless youths develop self sufficiency and will hold programs in the area throughout the year. A similar program operates in San Francisco (Johnson/Jones, San Francisco Chronicle, 4/4).
