PROP 10: CCHI Creates Center to Assist Tobacco Tax Spending
With funding from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the California Endowment, the California Center for Health Improvement (CCHI) has created a statewide Proposition 10 Technical Assistance Center to assist county Children and Families commissions with creating and implementing strategic plans for Prop. 10 cigarette tax funds. CCHI established the center in response to technical assistance needs expressed by the commissions through surveys and at a statewide meeting. The new center will provide direct assistance via on-site aid, telephone consultations and regional workshops. It also will offer documents, background information and other materials on model strategic plans, proposal requests, policies and procedures. The center will also operate a toll-free information line, 877-TAPROP10 (California Health Law Monitor, 1/10).
