Public-Private Partnership To Help Address Conditions in San Joaquin Valley
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Friday signed an executive order to create a public-private partnership to address problems in the San Joaquin Valley, including inadequate access to health care, the Bakersfield Californian reports.
The 26-member group, called the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, will include eight members each from the state government, local government and private sector. According to a statement, the agency will identify the best uses of public money to "improve valley conditions fast" and seek additional federal funding, the Californian reports (Phillips, Bakersfield Californian, 6/24).
