Regulation Lets State Trim Healthy Families Enrollment if Needed
On Tuesday, the California Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board approved a regulation that allows the board to waitlist or drop children from Healthy Families if it does not have sufficient funding to provide benefits to all children, KPCC's "KPCC News" reports.
Healthy Families is California's version of the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
The regulation gives the insurance board legal authority to limit enrollment if necessary, Laura Rosenthal, an attorney for the board, said. There are no immediate plans to drop or waitlist children, she said.
