Report Details High Blood Pressure Rates in L.A. County
About 39% of women and 35% of men in Los Angeles County had high blood pressure in 2009, according to a study published in the journal PLOS One. The study noted that while control of high blood pressure is improving, the condition has become more common. Nationwide, the prevalence of high blood pressure increased by about 10%.
