Report: L.A. Leads U.S. in End-of-Life Medicare Spending
Medicare spending on end-of-life care is higher in Los Angeles than anywhere else in the U.S., according to a new report by the Dartmouth Atlas project. As of 2010, spending on end-of-life care was about $112,000 per patient in Los Angeles, roughly 60% higher than the national average.
