Report on Food Insecurity in L.A. County Sparks Concerns
A study released on Tuesday indicates that almost one in 10 Los Angeles County residents received food assistance last year from outlets supplied by the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Jonathan Fielding, director of the county Department of Public Health, says the data are worrisome because of implications for health, education and economic productivity.
