Residency Program at San Joaquin General Hospital Under Review
San Joaquin General Hospital's medical residency program received a mixed review in a report presented to the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, the Stockton Record reports.
The report indicated that the residency program has the potential to increase the number of physicians practicing in the area although it has not helped keep physicians at San Joaquin General in recent years.
The program is not self sustaining, according to the report.
The report also found that the program improves efficiency at the hospital and that improvements to the program could increase the hospital's savings (Stockton Record, 12/17).
