Retail Clinics Opening in Sacramento Area
Sutter Health and Rite Aid will open six retail clinics in the Sacramento area, marking the first such venture between a pharmacy chain and a health care system in the Sacramento area, the Sacramento Bee reports. Officials for Sutter and Rite Aid announced the plan on Thursday.
The clinics will be staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants and will provide 20-minute visits for anyone age 18 months or older. The clinics are not restricted to Sutter Health members.
Each 20-minute visit will cost $60, and appointments are not required. Vaccinations and other screenings will be available for an additional charge.
The companies plan to open the clinics by December at Rite Aid stores in:
- Elk Grove;
- Folsom;
- Rancho Cordova;
- Roseville; and
- Sacramento (Srivastava, Sacramento Bee, 9/22).
