SAN DIEGO COUNTY: Scripps Health Reunites with Scripps Clinic
Scripps Health last week announced its reaffiliation with Scripps Clinic, a 320-physician, multi-speciality medical group in San Diego County (Scripps Health release, 6/27). Scripps Clinic, which maintains 11 facilities in the county, has split from the hospital system several times, most recently in 1994 (California Healthline, 5/19). "Reaffiliation represents a direct response to our patients' desire for access to state-of-the-art medical services and advanced care capabilities through a seamless experience. The reaffiliation will strengthen Scripps' ability to face the challenges of a dynamic health care environment and supports our mission to provide quality patient care to the San Diego community," Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder said. The rejoining of the two groups makes Scripps Health the largest health care organization in the county (Scripps Health release, 6/27).This is part of the California Healthline Daily Edition, a summary of health policy coverage from major news organizations.
