SAN DIEGO: Sharp Rees-Stealy Takes the Cake in PacifiCare Index
According to a quality index report published this week by PacifiCare of California, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group outranks 186 other California medical groups and independent physician associations in clinical, service and administrative quality. The group was the only one to score in the 99th percentile. The report identified Sharp Rees-Stealy, which is affiliated with Sharp Healthcare of San Diego, as superior in preventive health services, including cervical cancer screenings and eye examinations for diabetes, as well as patient satisfaction, including referrals and primary care accessibility. PacifiCare of California's Quality Index, which evaluates physician groups and associations according to 28 quality indicators, represents more than 25,000 physicians serving 2.1 million PacifiCare and Secure Horizons members throughout the state. The index is intended to enable consumers to reach informed health care decisions and can be accessed at www.pacificare.com (Sharp Healthcare release, 8/20).
