SAN FRANCISCO: CareCounsel To Provide Assistance Program To Fritz
San Rafael-based CareCounsel, the country's leading vendor of telephone-based health care assistance programs, announced it has been selected to provide its program to San Francisco-based Fritz Companies. CareCounsel has provided confidential assistance on a wide range of health care issues to the transportation logistics firm's 9,000 employees since July. CareCounsel President and CEO Lawrence Gelb said, "In the first month of the program, over 7% of the eligible employee population" accessed the program. "The CareCounsel Program is an exciting employee benefit," Fritz Company consultant Bernie Tillotson said. "As employees take greater responsibility for their health care needs, we wanted to provide an accessible, employee-friendly way for people to get answers to questions and increase understanding of their managed care benefits." CareCounsel staff provides assistance with selecting health plans, choosing primary care physicians and specialists, locating disease-specific resources and resolving service and quality concerns with medical providers and health plans (release, 9/10).
