SAN FRANCISCO: City Names Leadership For Health Network
The San Francisco health department has appointed Acting Executive Administrator Anthony Wagner as the permanent head of the Community Health Network of San Francisco. The San Francisco Business Journal reports that Wagner will "oversee the city's complete, integrated health system, including San Francisco General and Laguna Honda hospitals, as well as mental and home health services, jail health and 18 neighborhood health centers." Gene Marie O'Connell is the network's new director of patient services and executive director of the San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Melissa Welch was appointed as the network's chief medical officer and University of California-San Francisco's associate clinical professor of medicine. Larry Funk becomes executive administrator for the 1,450-bed Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (Bole, 6/15 issue).
