San Joaquin Ambulance Firm OK’d To Continue Operation
A San Joaquin County ambulance company that was operating without a county permit has been cleared by county officials to continue providing medical services at sporting events, the Stockton Record reports.
In September, the county's Emergency Medical Services department rejected an application by San Andreas Ambulance to renew its permit, which had expired more than a year earlier.
The renewal application was denied because the company did not provide necessary documents and had operated without county authorization.
Dan Burch, EMS Administrator, said the ambulance company has now provided all requested documents and will be allowed to operate under a probation agreement.
San Andreas Ambulance is one of three ambulance companies that provide stand-by medical services at sporting events. The company is not under contract with the county to respond to 911 calls (Johnson, Stockton Record, 11/7).
