San Joaquin County, Stockton Head To Court Over Paramedic Services
On Friday, attorneys for San Joaquin County filed documents in San Joaquin County Superior Court as part of an ongoing dispute with the city of Stockton over which entity is responsible for providing advanced life support services in Stockton, the Stockton Record reports.
A 1986 agreement charged paramedics in the Stockton Fire Department with providing advanced life support services in the city, but Stockton and county officials now disagree on whether the agreement still is in effect and if fire department paramedics are needed for such services.A hearing in the case has been set for Nov. 6 (Stockton Record, 9/23).
