SANTA CLARA COUNTY: Health Officials to Launch Web Site
Santa Clara County's Health and Human Services Department will launch its programs into cyberspace today to provide residents, caregivers and agencies with easier access to information about county resources, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. "It's hard to believe, but here in the heart of Silicon Valley, people have had to go to the bookshelf, rather than the Internet, when they're looking for help," county Supervisor Joe Simitian said. The San Jose-based Community Technology Alliance designed the Help Santa Clara County Web site, located at www.helpSCC.org. The county and city of San Jose helped to finance the project, and the David and Lucile Packard Foundation will support the site (6/20).This is part of the California Healthline Daily Edition, a summary of health policy coverage from major news organizations.
