Schwarzenegger Announces Appointments
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Friday announced several appointments to state agencies and departments, including two that are health related.
- Ana Matosantos (D) of Sacramento was appointed associate secretary of legislative affairs for the Health and Human Services Agency. Matosantos served as assistant secretary for the Office of Program and Fiscal Affairs at the health agency and previously worked as a consultant to the Senate Health and Human Services and Budget and Fiscal Review committees. The position does not require Senate confirmation and compensation is $106,800 annually.
- Kathleen Hawk (R) of Temecula was appointed skilled nursing facility administrator for the Veterans Home at Chula Vista for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Hawk currently is the administrator at Olive Vista Behavior Health. She previously served as an administrator for Kindred Healthcare Nursing Home. The position does not require Senate confirmation and compensation is $96,384 annually (Office of the Governor release, 6/2).
