Schwarzenegger Announces Appointments to Several State Boards, Offices
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Wednesday announced several appointments to state boards and offices, including the following health-related positions:
- Steven Klompus (R) was appointed to the Physician Assistant Committee of the Medical Board of California. Klompus is a physician assistant with East Edinger Industrial Urgent Care and is a clinical instructor of physician assistant education at Western University of Health Sciences, the University of Southern California and Loma Linda University. The position pays $100 per diem and does not require Senate confirmation.
- Kathleen Webb (D) was appointed director of the Office of the Insurance Advisor. Webb currently is a legislative specialist for State Farm Insurance and has served as a tribunal administrator for the American Arbitration Association. The position pays $82,500 per year and does not require Senate confirmation (Office of the Governor release, 1/11).
