Schwarzenegger Announces Appointments to Several State Boards
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Tuesday announced several appointments to state boards, including the following health-related positions:
- Monica Fascher Johnson of Ladera Ranch was appointed to the State Board of Optometry. Fascher Johnson serves as corporate counsel with BAX Global. The position does not require Senate confirmation and pays $100 per diem.
- John MacLeod of Folsom was appointed to chair the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. MacLeod formerly served as executive officer of the board and worked for more than 17 years in the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development and Seismic Safety Commission. The position does not require Senate confirmation and pays $100 per diem.
- Helen Najar of Long Beach was appointed to the Commission on Emergency Medical Services. Najar serves as a member of the governing board of directors of Community Hospital of Long Beach. Najar also is an appointed commissioner of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. The position does not require Senate confirmation and does not provide compensation.
- Lance Vollmer of Vista was appointed to the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Vollmer formerly was a policy adviser to San Diego County Supervisor Bill Horn. The position does not require Senate approval and pays $100 per diem (Office of the Governor release, 12/20).
