Schwarzenegger Appoints Heath Care Officials
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Tuesday announced several appointments to state positions related to health care. Schwarzenegger appointed Trina Gonzalez as special assistant to the secretary of the Health and Human Services Agency. The position does not require Senate confirmation and provides an annual salary of $72,000. Gonzalez previously has served as the principal consultant and co-founder of Third Sector Strategies, assistant to the general manager of the Solano County Fair Association and adjunct assistant professor at Sacramento City College.
In addition, Schwarzenegger appointed Candice Traeger to chair of the Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board, a position that requires Senate confirmation and provides an annual salary of $103,317. Traeger recently served as the director of public affairs in California and the Northwest for UPS (Office of the Governor release).
