Schwarzenegger Names Appointees to Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Thursday announced several appointments, including three appointees to the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Appointments to the board do not require confirmation by the Senate, and members receive compensation of $100 per diem.
Schwarzenegger appointed:
- Todd D'Braunstein (R) of Upland, a unit supervisor at Patton State Hospital. D'Braunstein in 1996 was hired as a psychiatric technician at Patton State and in 2001 was promoted to psychiatric technician instructor.
- Kenneth Merchant (R) of Citrus Heights, a member of the California Workforce Association and the Nursing Workforce Advisory Committee for the Board of Registered Nurses. He has served as executive director of the Quality Care Health Foundation and also the National Association of Job Training Assistance.
- John Vertido (R) of Roseville, a board-certified vocational nurse instructor who has taught nursing at Western Career College since 1996 (Office of the Governor release, 9/15).
