Several Calif. Cities Rank Among Top 50 in U.S. for Patient Satisfaction
The San Francisco-Oakland area has the highest patient satisfaction in the U.S., according to recently released rankings by Vanguard Communications, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.
Details of Rankings
The firm used software to analyze Google Plus and Yelp reviews of 46,300 health care providers for its "Happy Patient Index."
The rankings included ratings of:
- Clinics;
- Hospitals;
- Individual physicians; and
- Group medical practices.
Each city included in the index was ranked on its average patient rating on the five-star scale used by both websites (Honolulu Star-Advertiser, 6/2).
For cities that were tied, those with fewer health care providers were ranked lower on the index.
Calif. Results
San Francisco and Oakland were jointly ranked first for patient satisfaction in the Happy Patient Index because of their close proximity.
Other California cities that ranked in the top 50 for patient satisfaction include:
- San Jose, ranking ninth;
- Santa Ana, ranking 23rd;
- Los Angeles, ranking 24th;
- Stockton, ranking 25th;
- Long Beach, ranking 28th;
- Chula Vista, ranking 31st;
- San Diego, ranking 37th; and
