S.F. Hospital Warns Nearly 200 Patients of Exposure to Blood-Borne Illnesses From Improperly Sterilized Tools
California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco has notified 198 patients that they might have been exposed to hepatitis, HIV and other blood-borne diseases between July 2010 and February 2014. The hospital said the affected individuals were treated with a rigid bronchoscope, laryngoscope or esophagoscope that were not properly sterilized.
