AB 106 by Assembly member Patty Berg (D-Eureka) will require hospitals to offer flu and pneumonia vaccines to seniors discharged between Oct. 1 and April 1 (Bill Text, 6/1).
Under AB 682 by Berg, doctors no longer will have to obtain written consent from patients before running an HIV test as part of a routine medical exam. Patients or their caretaker can deny the test verbally (Bill Text, 9/4).
