Stanford, UC-San Diego Among Research Institutions Not Properly Disclosing Clinical Trial Data, Investigation Finds
Many research institutions are not disclosing clinical trial data to ClinicalTrials.gov as required by law, according to an investigation by STAT News. In 2007, FDA issued rules requiring researchers to publish a results summary on ClinicalTrials.gov for all eligible clinical trials within a year of the study's completion. Four of the top 10 recipients of medical research funding from NIH -- including Stanford University and UC-San Diego -- were among the worst offenders.
