State Lawmakers Mull Medical Marijuana Regulation
This week, the California Legislature will consider two competing bills to establish a regulatory framework for the state's medical marijuana industry. Cities and police departments are backing a bill (SB 1262), by Sen. Lou Correa (D-Anaheim), that aims to impose greater oversight of the medical marijuana industry, while physicians support a measure (AB 1894), by Assembly member Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco), that would impose more-relaxed regulations.
