State To Shut Down Pomona Center for Disabled Residents
The state plans to close within two years the Lanterman Developmental Center in Pomona, which houses residents with severe developmental disabilities, according to Terri Delgadillo, director of the state Department of Developmental Services. Officials say that residents of the center will be able to receive proper care at community facilities, but families and patient advocates are concerned that care quality could be jeopardized.
