State’s Budget Deficit Likely To Exceed $10B, Brown Says
On Tuesday, Gov. Jerry Brown (D) said California's budget deficit likely will increase by $1 billion or more above the $9.2 billion his administration projected in January. Brown attributed the higher deficit to court challenges, lower-than-expected tax revenues and other factors.
