Survey Credits Stimulus With Preserving Kids’ Coverage
Many states have used money from the federal economic stimulus package to preserve and in some cases expand children's health insurance coverage through Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program, according to an annual survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation's Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured. The survey warns that the expiration of stimulus funds in 2010 could prompt some states to tighten eligibility for kids' health insurance programs.
