Survey: Southern Calif. ED Wait Times Exceed Nationwide Averages
Non-emergency patients at Los Angeles County emergency departments wait an average of seven hours before being seen, according to an unpublished survey from the Hospital Association of Southern California, the Los Angeles Times reports.
County-run facilities have an average ED wait time of 12 hours, according to association spokesperson Jim Lott.
The survey found that wait times for Southern California facilities are higher than national averages.
The region has yet to adopt regulations requiring hospitals to post wait times (Yoshino, Los Angeles Times, 12/21).
