The Week Ahead
Monday
The Senate Appropriations Committee will hear several health-related bills, including:

AB 1316 to authorize a hospital district board of directors to cover damages or other costs associated with civil lawsuit related to medical peer-review;

AB 1796, which requires an applicant for a physician's and surgeon's certificate to disclose information related to sexual misconduct settlements, judgments or convictions and any sexual harassment judgments or convictions; and
- AB 2560 to establish a Public School Health Center Support Program in California.
Wednesday
The Assembly will hear the third reading of SB 1430, which would enact the Local Pandemic and Emergency Health Preparedness Act of 2006. The bill specifies local and state government responsibilities in the event of a health emergency.
Friday
Aug. 18 is the last day for fiscal committees to meet and report bills to the Senate and Assembly floors.
