The Week Ahead
The Senate Appropriations Committee will hold a hearing to address several health-related bills, including legislation for rural health care, hospital lift teams, influenza vaccines and Medi-Cal.
Also on Monday, the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review subcommittee will meet to address selected health issues associated with Medi-Cal, public health and the California Medical Assistance Commission.
Sonora County supervisors will consider whether to close Tuolumne General Hospital's acute care facilities, as well as a proposal to eliminate the emergency department, intensive care unit and surgeries at the hospital to reduce general fund spending by at least $6.3 million.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will hear a number of bills, including legislation involving advanced health care directives.
The Senate Revenue and Taxation committees will hold hearings on bills including income and corporate taxes and health savings accounts.
The Senate Health Committee also will hold hearings on a number of bills addressing Medi-Cal, health care coverage and health facilities, among other health issues.
