The Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board is slated to meet in Sacramento to consider emergency regulations that would let the agency cap enrollment in Healthy Families and start dropping kids' from the program. Healthy Families is California's version of the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
Nov. 5 is the due date for organizations to submit proposals to the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services about taking over operation of Martin Luther King Jr.-Harbor Hospital.
Tuesday
Residents living in communities with hospitals owned by Valley Health System will vote on a measure to allow the sale of the hospital district to Del Mar-based Healthcare Solutions. Valley Health System operates hospitals in Hemet, Sun City and Moreno Valley.
