The Assembly Health Committee will consider legislation (AB 16) by Assembly member Ed Hernandez (D-Baldwin Park) that would require all girls entering seventh grade to receive an immunization against the human papillomavirus, which is linked to cervical cancer.
Wednesday
The Assembly Education Committee will hear several proposals, including a pair of measures (AB 90 and AB 86) seeking to ban trans fats in food served in California schools.
The Senate Health Committee will consider several measures, including:

SB 119 by Sen. Gilbert Cedillo (D-Los Angeles) addressing Medi-Cal coverage for residential drug and alcohol treatment services; and

SB 211 by Sen. Dave Cox (R-Roseville) on application fees for hospitals undertaking construction projects related to a declared disaster.
The Los Angeles County Superior Court will hear a request by the California Association of Realtors for a court order to temporarily stop the cancellation of a health insurance contract with Blue Cross of California.
Friday
The California Health Policy Forum will host a panel discussion on strategies for financing preventive care for chronic diseases.
