UC To Launch $250M Venture Fund for Startups
On Monday, the University of California announced it will create an independent venture fund with up to $250 million from the school system's Office of the Chief Investment Officer. The funding will go toward startup companies that began with research on UC campuses, such as San Francisco-based Genentech. The UC Board of Regents will vote Thursday on the launch of the fund.
