UCSF: Clinton Appoints Bishop To Head Cancer Advisory Board
The president announced yesterday his intent to appoint Dr. J. Michael Bishop, professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco, as chair of the National Cancer Advisory Board. Bishop is a nobel prize winner in Physiology and Medicine for his work on tumor viruses and oncogenes. The appointment comes fresh off Bishop's recent appointment as the next chancellor of UCSF (release, 2/19).
