UNLICENSED DOCTORS: L.A. Will Require Posting Of Licenses
In response to two recent fatal incidents in which physicians were operating without medical licenses, the "Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will soon require physicians to post their medical licenses and certificates in prominent places in their" practices. In addition, the state Department of Health Services will undertake a public education campaign to encourage "people to ask a physician about their certification before receiving treatment" (Rimbert, Los Angeles Times, 6/18).
