Vetoed
AB 1328 by Assembly member Mary Hayashi (D-Castro Valley) would have eliminated a six-month residency requirement for the Access for Infants and Mothers program (Bill Text 9/24). The governor vetoed the measure, arguing that opening eligibility to any resident could increase general fund costs by more than $1 million (Veto statement, 10/14) (.pdf).
Under AB 343 by Assembly member Jose Solorio (D-Santa Ana), state regulators would have been required to identify all businesses with at least 25 employees who are beneficiaries of Medi-Cal, Healthy Families or AIM, or whose dependents are beneficiaries of the programs (Bill Text, 9/19). Schwarzenegger said the bill would not be cost effective (Veto statement, 10/10) (.pdf).
