Waxman Renews Call for Medicine Advertising Limits
On Monday, House Energy and Commerce Chair Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) renewed his call to give FDA the ability to ban advertisements for certain drugs when they first reach the market and risks are not fully known. A similar effort in 2007 failed after some lawmakers argued that it would violate constitutional protections of free speech.
