Workforce
AB 2524 by Assembly member Chuck DeVore (R-Irvine) on May 3 was amended to expand the scope of required annual studies of workers' compensation reforms to include the effects of reimbursement policies and rates on the health care system for injured workers. The amended version of the bill also would authorize the administrative director of the Division of Workers' Compensation to adjust the medical fee and pharmacy fee schedules if it is determined that injured workers do not have sufficient access to medical care. The bill was re-referred to the Assembly Appropriations Committee (StateNet, Subscription required).
