Nevada Reimportation Program Regulations Approved
A Nevada Legislative Commission subcommittee on Thursday approved regulations for a program that will allow state residents to purchase preapproved prescription drugs from online Canadian pharmacies, the Nevada Appeal reports. The program established under a state law enacted last year, likely will begin this week (Dornan, Nevada Appeal, 5/5).
The state pharmacy board has inspected and approved four Canadian online pharmacies to participate in the program, and a Web site established by the state will include links to those pharmacies.
Louis Ling, counsel for the state pharmacy board, said that Canadian pharmacists licensed by the board have to adhere to the same disciplinary rules as pharmacists in Nevada, adding that the state can file complaints against Canadian pharmacists with Canadian pharmacy board officials (Wells, Las Vegas Review-Journal, 5/5).
