Oakland Takes A Stand For Abortion Rights
Anti-abortion organizations will have to be straightforward about what their "crisis pregnancy centers" are offering under terms of truth-in-advertising legislation passed unanimously by the City Council. ...San Francisco passed a similar ordinance in 2011. Armstrong ruled that false advertising is not protected speech under the First Amendment and that the clinic could still counsel patients and express its opinions. (Hedin, 7/28)
