Study: Care Guidelines Have Little Effect on Readmissions

Procedural guidelines created to ensure quality hospital care do not have a significant effect on readmission rates, according to a new study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine. Researchers said that care protocols may have "little impact on the risk of readmission" or that the guidelines may be too broadly defined.
